Teeth Whitening in Norwood MA
Throughout the years, just like anything else, our teeth are worn down. The center of a tooth is made up of dentin, a yellow-tinted material. As the enamel on our teeth begins to wear away, the dentin starts to show and can cause our teeth to have a yellow appearance. This yellow coloring of the teeth can be reverted, however, with the use of bleach to whiten the teeth.
Teeth whitening methods
There are two popular teeth whitening methods available for utilization at our advanced dental facility. The first in-office teeth whitening procedure produces a significant color change in your teeth within a short period of time; usually within an hour. The procedure is performed at the dentist's office by applying a high-concentration peroxide gel on the teeth once they have been protected with a special shield.
The second method involves the use of take-home whitening kits, which can be purchased from your dentist. The strength of the gel used in these kits, however, is lower than that used for in-office bleaching, and thus the gel will need to be applied for longer periods of time. Usually, the trays are worn a couple hours a day, or overnight for a few days. Depending on the product, it may even need to be worn for a few weeks!
Consult your dentist to understand which whitening option is best for you.
