Sealants
A dental sealant is a thin coating of protective material applied to smooth out the grooves on an otherwise healthy tooth. Your pediatric dentist may recommend dental sealants on teeth that have deep grooves, which increase an individual’s susceptibility to cavities on those teeth. Sealants have become commonplace in the dental field as research as widely shown their effectiveness in preventing cavities from forming on the biting surface of teeth. The sealants we use at Epic Dental are completely safe and BPA-free.
How Are Sealants Applied?
First, your child’s teeth will be gently cleaned. Then the tooth-colored composite material is applied to the deep grooves of your child’s teeth. Finally, we will do a final check of the sealant and bite once the process is complete.
Our dental specialists use the latest technology and safest materials for placing sealants that are quick, comfortable, and long-lasting. While sealants are extremely effective in helping prevent cavities, proper oral hygiene, good eating habits, and regular dental visits are recommended to extend the life of the sealant and ensure your child’s comfort and overall oral health.
